Women's Tennis blanks Pine Manor (The Free Press)

The USM women's tennis team regrouped after a three-match losing streak as they scored a perfect nine points, routing Pine Manor 9-0 in a non-conference match at the Gorham High school courts on Wednesday. Sophomore Danielle Ward (Lansing, MI) led the Huskies in a match that highlighted superior play from all players on this year's squad.

While many folks have all but handed the Western Maine Class A field hockey title to the Scarborough Red Storm, the girls from Gorham High School aren't planning to concede anything.

Season outlook: The Rams get out of the gate with three tough games against Cheverus, Deering and Windham. Kilborn said that the early test would be good for the Rams. "After this three-game stretch, we will have a lot of the questions answered about ourselves," he said.

Gorham High School, is a public high school located in Gorham, Maine. It houses grades 9–12.
History
Gorham High School received national media attention on January 4, 2008, when the administration was forced to cancel classes for a day after an apparent senior prank. School administrators arrived at the building to find snow and ice blocking the locks and doors outside of the school. Due to town fire codes, the building was closed until all of the exits could be thawed and cleared.
Academics
Gorham High offers a diverse curriculum including AP courses and electives to adequately prepare students for college, as well as vocational programs to prepare students to enter specific careers.
Athletics
Gorham, competing in Western Maine Class A, participates in fourteen varsity sports: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Ice Hockey, Indoor Track, Lacrosse, Soccer, Cheerleading, Tennis, Track, Field Hockey, Volleyball, and Softball.
