SUNDERLAND - When the Sunderland Elementary School had to make a $384,558 budget reduction during the summer because of a failed override vote, it looked as though children would go through the 2009-10 school year without full access to music, art, technology or a librarian.

SUNDERLAND - Six-year-old Oliver C. Sackrey tugged at the corn husk, trying to pull it from the golden kernels beneath. The first-grader and other Sunderland Elementary School pupils lined up at two long tables outside the school and pulled the husks and silk off dozens of ears of corn.

Wednesday, Sept. 9 Calendar Bingo in Arlington ARLINGTON -- Bingo will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arlington Fire Station, on Old Mill Road. It will benefit the Arlington Fire Department’s Ladies’ Auxiliary. A prize will be given after each game, as well as a payout and grand prize drawing after the last game.
