  • Bohemia Manor High School is located in the small town of Chesapeake City in Cecil County, Maryland. This is a public school operated by Cecil County Public Schools.
  • This school serves the Maryland communities of Chesapeake City, Cecilton, and parts of Elkton. The school mascot is the eagle. The school is also known by the nickname "Bo Manor".
  • Origin of the school: Bohemia Manor High School has a rich history. Before the school was opened, there was Chesapeake City High School and Cecilton High School. In 1949, the Board of Education considered consolidating Chesapeake City High School and Cecilton High School to form one High School to serve southern Cecil County. However it wasn't until 1956 that construction began. Construction was completed and the school opened in 1958. This brand new school would house grades 7th through 12th. The first Principal was Samuel Dixon. In 1996, grades 6th through 8th were made to form Bohemia Manor Middle School. Grades 9th through 12th would remain in Bohemia Manor High School.
  • Origin of the school's name: In the 17th century, a surveyor named Augustine Herman made one of the first maps of Cecil County, where the school resides. In the 18th century, a plantation called Bohemia Manor was located only a few miles from the school grounds.
  • Notable events: The Bo Manor football team won the 2002 Maryland State Championship.
  • Bo Manor had Cecil County Public Schools Teacher of the Year two years in a row in 2003 and 2004. They were Anne Gellrich(2003) and Brenda Reynolds(2004).
  • In 2006 the Bo Manor Baseball Team was in the Maryland State Championship finals, although defeated, it was an honor for the school.
  • Notable teachers: Robert Wallace II — Has been the Music Teacher at Bo Manor since 1969, has led his band and chorus classes to win several awards.
  • Barbara Lort — Has been teaching Language Arts at Bo Manor since 1972 and has been one of Cecil County's Teachers of The Year.
  • Barbara Wallace — Cecil County's 2001 Teacher of The Year.
  • Anne Gellrich — Cecil County's 2003 Teacher of The Year.
  • Brenda Reynolds — Cecil County's 2004 Teacher of The Year. Mrs. Reynolds died in 2005.
  • Todd Shives — Football Coach & Physical Education Teacher who led Bo Manor's football team to win the 2002 Maryland State Championship.
  • Samuel Dixon was Bo Manor's first Principal serving from 1958 till he was promoted in 1960 as Supervisor of Transportation for Cecil County Public Schools. In 1974, he became Supervisor of Transportation for the Maryland Department of Education. While working for the MSDE, he was responsible for having all the bus routes in the state automated onto a Computer. He retired in 1979. He died in 2003.
  • Notable alumni: John Mabry(Class of 1988)- Professional Baseball Player for the Chicago Cubs.
  • Robert Alt (Class of 1979)- Served as Mayor of Elkton, Maryland from 1998 to 2002.
