North Adams Transcript ADAMS -- The Adams-Cheshire Regional School District took a big step Monday toward finalizing a plan to deal with the mothballed Adams Memorial Middle School. The state School Building Authority’s Designer Selection Panel named its first pick for a design firm to conduct the feasibility study to determine how the district will deal with Adams Memorial.

Nov. 4 50 years ago today ADAMS -- Airman Francis Alibozek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Alibozek of 53 East Hoosac St., has been assigned to a unit of the Continental Air Command at Mitchell Air Force Base, N.Y., for training and duty as a roads and grounds specialist. Airman Alibozek recently completed basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, after enlisting in mid-July.

North Adams Transcript CHESHIRE -- Two Hoosac Valley High School freshmen required medical attention after ingesting a prescription drug on Monday afternoon, according to the principal. Ambulances responded twice to the high school, at 12:26 p.m. and again at 1:21 p.m., to attend to two students who became sick, one after the other.
