The selectmen and school committee signed a “modified” Statement of Interest for the Hingham Middle School and submitted it to the Massachusetts School Building Authority last Friday — just in time to meet the Nov. 13 deadline.

Plans to “refresh” the town’s Statement of Interest with the Massachusetts School Building Authority to reflect concerns about the Middle School are simply to keep the school in the running for possible future improvements/expansion with some state reimbursement.

The SOI updating process typically calls for a review of enrollment data and any other changes of conditions from prior submissions. “We plan to do the necessary updating and get the required approvals from the board of selectmen and the school committee in time to meet the Oct. 23, 2009 MSBA deadline,” Supt. of Schools Dorothy Galo said.
