Saline County didn't escape the floodwaters. The scenes Friday were becoming a frequent occurrence across central Arkansas. It’s been a wet few months, in fact, a wet couple of seasons. And by now those working and living in Saline County know what to expect when the water rises.

The Bauxite High School marching band performs at a countywide high school band showcase Tuesday night at Bryant Middle School. The annual event, which featured performances by bands from Benton, Bryant, Bauxite and Harmony Grove high schools, raised $1,545 for the bands to share.

A Benton man accused of involvement in the 2008 beating of two men, which resulted in the death of one of the victims, was found not guilty of all charges by a Saline County jury late Thursday.
