In this picture from Jan. 20, 1978, Denise Potvin gets a signature from John Leu at Drury High School on a petition protesting a Transcript story about smoking. The story had referenced ‘jocks’ and ‘heads’ sitting on opposite sides of the cafeteria. About 250 students signed the petition, charging that the Transcript had been unfair to the majority of the student body.

Drury High School is a school located in North Adams, Massachusetts. It serves the towns of Florida, North Adams, Clarksburg, Readsboro, and Stamford.
History
1843 - School built with $3000 grant given by the late Nathan Drury, the school's namesake
1851 - Became a free, public high school
1867 - First building torn down and replaced with a new one
1976 - New school building built on South Church Street
2001 - School renovated to have new classrooms and updated electronic technology
Current standing
It has a student body of approximately 600 students.
The school's mascot is currently the Blue Devil.
The school colors are blue and white.
Drury competes primarily within Berkshire County, however a small portion of its non-league independent schedule includes similar size schools from the Connecticut River Valley of Western Massachusetts and nearby Vermont.
Most traditional rival is Hoosac Valley High School of Cheshire.
