Over the past four weeks, the Swampscott High School senior girls have worked very hard, and put in long days as well. They came to school, worked hard in class, went to other sports and commitments they had, and then they came back to the school at 6:45 p.m., from Monday through Thursday, as well as on Sundays, to learn both plays and the game of football overall.

There was the peanut farmer, an optimistic economist, and the charismatic manufacturer who almost had the crowd at its feet, but in the end a proposal to make the Fluffernutter the official state sandwich did not hold weight with junior legislators at Marblehead Veterans Middle School, who decided to take the sandwich off the table, no pun intended.
