The Holland senior won two events at the Division 2 state championship meet Saturday, setting a state record in one. Eighteen Latino students from area schools have joined a year-round program to increase high school graduation rates and encourage college enrollment. Launched last summer by Latin Americans United for Progress, Adelante America is a national program focused on leadership and careers for Latino youth.

Four years ago, Emily Bos burst onto the swim scene like no other swimmer in the history of Holland High School. She’s left plenty of opponents — and records — in her wake. “This generation, you won’t find a swimmer (who) can swim this many events that fast,” Holland coach Don Kimble said.
