Marshall High School is a high school in the Marshall Public Schools District in Marshall, Michigan.
Sports teams
Marshall uses the fictitious Redhawk as its mascot. The former mascot was the Redskin, but it was changed due to respect for Native Americans and their spiritual beliefs. Marshall High School went a couple of years without a mascot, and then the student body voted in the Spring of 2005 in favor of changing the mascot. In a close election the Redhawk beat out the heavily favored "Cheruvatath," a local Indian boy-legend.
Marshall now competes in the Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference East (SMAC East).
Recent highlights of sports teams' performances include
The 2010 football team has 18 returning starters from last year's team who lost in the state playoffs to Detroit Country Day. The team is expected to make a deep run in the playoffs and compete for the Division 4 state championship.
