Stan Nelson, former track coach at Northwest High School in House Springs, remembers Brian Woods as the kind of athlete who competed all out. "If you wanted someone at the end of the relay with guts and determination and who would give 100 percent, Brian would be your choice," Nelson said.

Ecumenical Earth Day 2009 will be held April 28 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Dalton. The free event seeks to educate the public about our role as stewards of the earth and includes music, crafts, petting, zoo, hot dog lunch and more.
