- Coronado High School is a public secondary school located at 1001 Coronado Center Drive in Henderson, Nevada, part of Clark County School District. It admits students in grades 9-12. The school's mascot is the cougar, and its school colors are red, white and blue. It is a public school that contains roughly 3,500 students, and has 114 certified staff members. The current administrators are:

The school was named after Francisco Vázquez de Coronado, a Spanish conquistador, who between 1540 and 1542 visited New Mexico and other parts of the southwestern portion of what is now the United States. It was opened during the 2001-2002 school year, with the first official graduating class in 2002-2003.

There are a variety of over 50 activities a student can participate in while attending. There are clubs that include Spanish Club and French Club, and Teenage Republicans and Young Democrats club and even a Forensics and AP club.
- Varsity Quiz

Coronado's Varsity Quiz team, coached by Tony Knox, has been a state playoff team each year since 2004, and they won their first State Championship in 2008. The same year, they became the first team in Nevada to compete in the National Academic Quiz Tournaments' High School Championships.
- Forensics

Coronado High School's forensics team is a part of the Golden Desert District and operates with the National Forensics League. It has had quarter-finalists, semi-finalists, and finalists in the county, state, and district tournaments. Two Coronado students, Noel Gordon and Audrey Darreguet, competed two years ago in the National Forensics Tournament, held in Las Vegas, Nevada and again in Birmingham, Alabama this past year. They helped capture the team's first State Championship this past year. Under the direction of Ms. Overly, the "forensicougars" have qualified students to the national tournament two years in a row.

- Track and Field

The track and field team is coach by Nic Bolken. He is the head coach along with the male and female sprints coach. Russ Kashka coaches the pole vault, Matt Poleski coaches throws, and Coach Teller is in charge of jumping events. The team sent 8 athletes to the state meet, two being regional champions (Michealnne Laurent in the 3200, 1600 and 800, and Emily Kashka in the pole vault) and the same two taking second in their events at the state meet.
- Cross Country

The cross country team is coached by Mark Tondryk and Nathan Terrones, the successor of Coach Steve Behm. The men's 2006 cross country team placed fourth in state, while the women's placed eighth. The 2007 women's team placed first at regionals.
- Swim team

The men's team won the sunrise region during the '05-'06 season. and finished 3rd at state championships.The women's team won the sunrise region during the '05-'06 season and finished 1st at state championships. Brenda and Brook Brayman are the swimming team's coaches.
- Bowling team

Since the school's opening, Bob McKee has led the women's and men's bowling teams to success. The men bowlers captured back to back Nevada State Championships in 2004 and 2005, while the women bowlers took the Nevada State Championship in both 2006 and 2007.
- Golf team

The men's golf team won back-to-back regional championships in the '01-'02 and '02-'03 seasons. The first state champion of the school was golfer Matt Edwards, who went on to play for UNLV. He now plays for NMSU's golf team where he won the '05-'06 WAC Championship as an individual and as a team.
- Cougar Pride Marching Band

Coronado's band is directed by Danielle McCracken and Benjamin Franke. The band made finals at the Bands of America performance at Northern Arizona University, only the fourth school to do so in the history of Clark County School District. The band consists of 149 members, including a ten-member drum line, and drum majors Madeline Carlson, Nick Veslany and Jacob Mann. The band has traveled to San Diego and London to march in the New Year's Day Parade, and to Washington D.C. to perform in the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Big Beat Battalion is a rap group widely recognized by students of Coronado. Smooth J, a member of group, teaches social studies at the school.
- Other notable local bands with members at the school include Shredmill, Summit Grove, the Tramlines, The Sharkicorns, Syndicate, My Sanchez Is Dirty, One Pin Short, Coral, Preferred Meat, 9th & Lewis, The Mexican Hotpockets, The Silver Rockets, I Think You Taste Good, Mung, The Spazzes, and Old Republic Division of Savings.
- Academics
- Many different AP classes are offered to students, ranging from Computer Science to U.S. History and Chemistry to Psychology.
- About 40 percent go to four year colleges and 30 percent enter two year community colleges after graduating senior year.
