The yearly Bogota Town Wide Garage Sale was held on Oct. 3. More than 70 families had garage, yard or porch sales. This event was sponsored by the Bogota Band Parents Organization which uses the proceeds from this sale to pay for trips, uniforms and supplies for the Bogota high school band.

Bogota Jr./Sr. High School is a comprehensive public high school that serves students in seventh through twelfth grade from Bogota, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, as part of the Bogota Public Schools. There are several activities the students engage in from sports to clubs.
As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 536 students and 38.8 classroom teachers (on a FTE basis, for a student-teacher ratio of 13.8.
The school was the 173rd-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 316 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2008 cover story on the state's Top Public High Schools. The school was ranked 132nd in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which surveyed 316 schools across the state.
Athletics
The Bogota High School Buccaneers compete in the Bergen County Scholastic League (BCSL) Olympic Conference, which includes private and public high schools located in Bergen County and Hudson County.
The Buccaneers came into the state tournament ranked first in their bracket, and proceeded to beat #8 seed Cresskill High School 36-7 in the first round and fourth-ranked Hasbrouck Heights High School by 24-17 in the semifinal game. On December 1, 2006, Bogota beat #6 seed Mountain Lakes High School 28-0 at Giants Stadium, to take home the North 1, Group I state championship. This was Bogota's first football state championship since 1957, and their first since the playoff era started in the 1970s.
The Boys Cross Country Team also has done a major part themselves. The boys team won the 2006 Bergen County Division D Championship.
On November 10, 2007, the girl's volleyball team defeated Midland Park High School in the title match of the 27-team Group I tournament at William Paterson University by scores of 22-25, 25-18 and 25-13.
On March 8, 2009, Emanuel Ajagbe became Bogota's first wrestling state champion, claiming the 145 pound title at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
