The Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education is defending itself against a lawsuit stemming from the removal of employee Lorraine Taddei-Graefs doctoral title and advanced pay following a decision of the Commission on Higher Education which deemed her doctorate degree from Breyer State University to be invalid.

While the team members were stretching in the Freehold Township High School gymnasium before a recent workout, Coach Beth English asked her field hockey players to look around and tell her what was missing. The girls did not know what to make of English's question. They looked around to see if any players were missing and could not come up with an answer.

Mr. Martin, 35, of Howell, died Nov. 4, 2009, from injuries received while at work at Monmouth Battlefield State Park, Manalapan. He was born in Red Bank, and was a graduate of Freehold Township High School. Mr. Martin was an Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop No. 66. He was predeceased by his father, James C.

Freehold Township High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located within Freehold Township, New Jersey, and is part of the Freehold Regional High School District. The school serves students from Freehold Township, Englishtown, Howell Township and Manalapan Township.
As of the 2006-07 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,132 students and 154 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 13.8.
The school was the 122nd-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 316 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2008 cover story on the state's Top Public High Schools. The school was ranked 144th in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which surveyed 316 schools across the state.
Athletics
The Freehold Township High School Patriots compete in the Shore Conference, an athletic conference made up of private and public high schools centered at the Northern Jersey Shore. All schools in this conference are located within Monmouth County and Ocean County. The league operates under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).
