  • Haddonfield Memorial High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grade from Haddonfield, in Camden County, New Jersey, United States, as part of the Haddonfield Public Schools.
  • As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 780 students and 53.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 14.6.
  • Awards and recognition
  • During the 2004-05 school year, Haddonfield Memorial High School was awarded the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence by the United States Department of Education, the highest award an American school can receive.
  • The school was the 14th-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 316 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2008 cover story on the state's Top Public High Schools. The school was ranked 17th in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which included 316 schools across the state.

  • Haddonfield Memorial High School won the 2005-06 Colonial Conference All-Sports Award for having the most first place finishes in the various Conference sports.
  • The school's cross country teamed ranked 4th in The Harrier's Nike / Foot Locker Super 25 National Rankings in 2001.
  • The boys tennis team won the 2007 South, Group II state sectional championship with a 4-1 win over Sterling High School.
  • The girls swim team took the Public South B state sectional championship in 2003, topping Mainland Regional High School 87-83 in the tournament final. The 2007 team won the South - B state sectional championship with a 108-62 against Ocean Township High School.
  • The boys swimming team won the 2007 South B state sectional championship with a 116-54 win against Shawnee High School.
  • The boys cross country team currently holds South Jersey's longest unbeaten streak at 102 dual meets and counting (as of 10/11/07).
  • In 2007, the girls tennis team won the South Jersey, Group II state sectional championship with a 4-1 win over Haddon Township High School in the tournament final.
  • In 2007, the girls soccer team won the South, Group II state sectional championship with a 3-2 win over Woodstown High School in the tournament final. The team moved on to win the Group II state championship with a 1-0 win over Pascack Hills High School.
  • World Affairs Council
  • The HMHS World Affairs Council (WAC) is an award-winning Model United Nations team. They have been given "best small and medium school" awards multiple times at the Rutgers University Model United Nations (RUMUN) and Philadelphia Model United Nations (PhilMUN). In addition to these conferences, the members of WAC have attended the North America Invitational Model United Nations (NAIMUN) in Washington D.C., starting in 2009. The WAC will be attending the NAIMUN again in 2010. The group goes to three overnight conferences per year, and they also attend four one-day conferences in the Haddonfield area. The members of the WAC also run a one-day conference in Haddonfield called HaddMUN.
  • Marching Band
  • Founded in 1938, the HMHS Marching Colonials perform at football games and compete in the Tournament of Bands (TOB) circuit. The band is currently entering a phase of improvement, moving to a more competitive band. With this idea, the theme for the 2008 season is entitled RebirtH. In celebration of their 70th anniversary, Haddonfield also hosted its first TOB Home Show and Competition in several years in September 2008, inviting bands from the area to perform competitively. Although their performance was not ranked as this was an exhibition, Haddonfield received a score of 78.05, the highest score of the night. The band finished the 2008 season undefeated in 8 competitions with a high score of 85.6, also winning the Chapter 1 Championship in Regional Group 1. Special awards earned included Auxiliary (Colorguard) award (3 times), the Percussion award (5 times), the Woodwind award, and the Drum Major award (3 times, including two near-perfect scores).. They ended the season as the top ranked Group 1 Regional band in TOB.

  • Kasukabe High School, located in Kasukabe, Saitama, Japan, made an exchange visit in the summer of 2007.

  • Building layout
  • The high school consists of three buildings connected by bridges on the upper floors. "A" and "B" buildings have two floors, and "C" building has three.
  • "A," the original school built in 1926, is rectangular and has an inner courtyard framed by three classical arches. Student and community events are held in the courtyard, and students eat there during good weather. Classrooms in this section were recently refurbished with refinished hardwood floors, new lighting, and a new HVAC system. Language, mathematics and other academic subjects are taught here. "A" also contains the auditorium and the smaller of the school's two gyms.
  • "B," the smallest section, includes the cafeteria, the wrestling room, and the larger of the school's two gyms.
  • "C" was added in the 1970s and is home to the science department where labs were recently refurbished. The music department, including band and choir rooms, is on the lower floor. "C" also contains academic classrooms, a home economics room, a wood shop, and the library.
