Six high school students sat at their desks, waiting for a day of learning to begin. They had ridden the school bus together and now chatted quietly or checked their cell phones. Some fidgeted with their uniforms.

Thanks to an offense that can fill the net, the Middletown High School North field hockey team has made its way to the NJSIAA North II Group IV Tournament. The Lions were slated to visit meet topseeded Bridgewater-Raritan on Tuesday in the finals. Middletown North is coming off a solid 5-1 win on Saturday against East Brunswick in the semifinals.

All former Lion wrestlers, coaches, family and friends are invited to the first Black & Orange Wrestling dinner to be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 23 in the Middletown High School North cafeteria. All current and former wrestlers and coaches will be part of the program. Tickets are $12 in advance and $20 at the door. Children under age 5 will be admitted free.
