* Kenneth J. Luker, 28, of South 4th Street, was arrested early Friday on the charges of simple assault and resisting arrest. He was lodged in Cumberland County Jail on $10,000 bail.

MILLVILLE _ Eugene Edward Pender, 48, of Bridgeton was arrested at Save A Lot on North 2nd Street on charges of obstruction and trespassing. He was released on a summons.

MILLVILLE -- Reading is becoming more popular for students throughout the city's school district. City schools are in the first full year of READ 180, a program designed to help develop language arts skills for students whose reading level is more than a full year behind their grade level.

DEPTFORD TWP. - At Saturday's South Jersey Shootout cross country meet at Gloucester County College, the main events were, as usual, the stud races, where the top two boys and girls from each respective team face off in what could be considered a South Jersey meet of champions.

Memorial High School is a public high school in Millville, New Jersey, United States, operated as part of the Millville Public Schools. The school was built in 1925 and used as the Millville High School from 1925-1964 until the Millville Senior High School was built. Currently it is being used as a Junior High School to house the ninth grade and half of the tenth grade.
Students from Woodbine attend the school as part of a sending/receiving relationship. Maurice River Township students also attend the school, as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Maurice River Township School District. Commercial Township and Lawrence Township also send students to the district's high schools.
As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 614 students and 52.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 11.7.
The school is a memorial to those who lost their lives in World War I. Millville High School is the home of the Millville Thunderbolts.
