    Students at the Applegarth Middle School in Monroe are well aware of the significance of Veterans Day. As part of the school's Salute to Veterans program, students have participated in such activities as a visit to the Menlo Park Veterans Home and a veterans panel discussion.

    MONROE — A new principal took the helm at the Applegarth Middle School last week. Chari Chanley is already familiar to students and staff, as she has served as assistant principal at the school since August 2003. The Board of Education appointed her to the top spot on June 10.

"I believe that part of why I enjoy my work so much is because it is what I was born to do," he said June 6 during his first State of the District address at Monroe Township High School.
