Forest Hills Elementary School is one of three elementary schools within the Florence City School System. We serve approximately 650 children in the area. Our teachers are available and accessible. The administration is encouraging and supportive of both parents and children, as well as the teaching staff. We offer a variety of activities/opportunities including: Jump Rope for Heart, Show Choir, Book Fairs, Red Ribbon Week activities, Read Across America activities, Student of the Month recognition, Book Character Parades, Monthly Flag Ceremonies, Reading Renaissance School, Field Day for every grade level, March of Dimes participation, PTO Musical/Dramatic Presentations, Field Trips, Arts Alive activities, Cub Scouts and Brownies.

    Staff reports Some students are being sent home early today because of wintry weather. Hibbett, Weeden and Handy schools will close at 11 a.m. Colbert County schools, Harlan, Florence High School, Florence Freshman Center, Florence Middle School, Forest Hills School and Covenant Christian School are closing at 11:30 a.m.

"When I was at Forest Hills (school), I was in the band and we marched in a parade - I think it was Bradshaw's homecoming," he said Tuesday night from his home in Duluth, Ga. "But that's the only one I remember being in."
