- North Rockland High School is a high school located in Thiells, New York, serving 10th to 12th grade students from the northern section of Rockland County, in southern New York. It is the only high school in the Haverstraw-Stony Point District.

The current principal of NRHS is Dr. Michael J. Gill, who moved from West Haverstraw Elementary School to take over as NRHS Principal. Dr. Gill will become the 4th principal of NRHS in the 2007-2008 school year. Past principals were Dr. George Jochum, Mr. Israel Bordanick and Mr. Dennis Hand. Assistant principals include Ralph Andreano, Dagoberto Artiles, Joan Murphy, and Anthony Zollo.

Students within the school district begin elementary school in Gerald Neary Elementary School, North Garnerville Elementary School, Stony Point Elementary School, Thiells Elementary School, or West Haverstraw Elementary School, all of which serve grades K-4. Middle schoolers attend Haverstraw Middle School, James A. Farley Middle School, or Willow Grove Middle School, which serve grades 5-7. These schools combine into Fieldstone Secondary School, which serves grades 8 and 9.

North Rockland High School offers courses on a quarter basis for grades 10, 11 and 12.
In order to graduate, a student must fulfill New York State Graduation Requirements for a New York State Regents Diploma. Exams are given as Midterms, after the first two quarters, and as finals, after all four quarters. Electives are offered in Technology, Art, Finance (Academy of Finance), and Music Departments, along with courses in English, Science, Mathematics, History, Physical Education, and Foreign Language. North Rockland offers a variety of Advanced Placement courses, or college level courses from nearby colleges. AP courses include Studio Art, Spanish Language, Music Theory, Physics B, Biology, Chemistry, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, World History, US History, European History, English Language & Composition, and English Literature & Composition. Rockland Community College offers courses in English, Political Science, and Economics. Syracuse University Project Advance offers courses in Government, Economics, and Statistics. The school also hosts a Naval Junior Officer Reserve Training Corps (NJROTC) program. North Rockland High School is associated with an excellent Career and Technical Education and New Vision program through BOCES. Adult education courses are also available. - Extracurriculars

Students may participate in numerous extracurricular activities, including: Student Government, Academic League, African American Club, Anime Club, Aspira Club, A World of Difference (AWOD), Chess Club, Drama Society, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Future Educators of America, Interact Club, Ironman Club, Key Club, Math League, NR Storytellers, NRG Link, PEACE (GSA), Peer Mediators, Peer Mentors, Public Debate (Forensic Club), Reality Check, Stage Crew, Students Against Animal Violation and Exploitation (SAAVE), Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD), Sailing Club, Student Ambassadors, T.G.I.F., Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse (VAASA), and Youth Against Cancer (YAC).
NJROTC hosts a Drill Team and a Color Guard. The music department hosts Guitar Club, Jazz Ensemble, Marching Band, Color Guard, Drill Team, Touring Choir, and a String Quartet. Students can also work as tutors for other students through the Homework Center and Math Lab, and can volunteer at the school store (Raging Raider). - Honor Societies

North Rockland's Red Raiders are known for their athleticism and "Raider Pride!" Large crowds are present at most home games.
Athletics include Football, Soccer, Swimming, Cross Country, Tennis, Volleyball, Hockey, Field Hockey, Basketball, Bowling, Wrestling, Winter Track, ice hockey, Skiing, Baseball, Lacrosse, Spring Track, Softball, Golf, Cheerleading, and Crew. [ Activities] North Rockland’s Football team was number 1 in section 1 and number 7 in New York State in 2008. North Rockland’s Cheerleaders were section 1 champs in 2008. Regular PTSA and School Board Meetings are held. Several faculty meetings, college information days, and two Parent-Teacher Conferences are held yearly.
Opportunities are given for students to take PSATs and SATs several times yearly. Induction Ceremonies for Honor Societies are held yearly. A Principal's roll breakfast is held after first and third quarter; a Top Twenty recognition ceremony is held after second quarter. A Scholarship Award Night is held yearly, in the spring. The Elks Club honors National Honor Society Seniors once a year, in the spring. A ROTC military ball is held yearly. The NRHS PTSA holds a fashion show yearly. Homecoming occurs every fall, with a fall dance. The Drama Club produces a play every fall, and a musical every spring. Seniors participate in a Halloween Costume Contest every Halloween. North Rockland High School Hosts Raider Relays every spring. Several times yearly the music department produces shows known as "Coffeehouse." Spirit week, Color Wars between years, and pep rallies are now seen in the fall, under the administration of Dr. Gill. The annual senior-faculty basketball game is held in the winter. The year culminates with a Junior Dance and a Senior Prom, followed by graduation on Cordisco Field. - Miscellaneous
