- Jericho High School is an American high school in the hamlet of Jericho in Nassau County, New York. It is the only high school in the Jericho Union Free School District. It opened in 1959.
- Academics: Jericho High School has consistently been ranked as one of the top twenty public high schools in America, as ranked by Newsweek. It offers many Advanced Placement classes, Syracuse University SUPA credit classes, has among the highest average SAT scores in the country, and spends more money on each student than nearly all other Long Island schools. College placements from Jericho High School typically include a large number attending the Ivy League institutions, NYU, SUNY, and many other first and second tier national institutions.
- Athletics: The sports teams are known as the Jayhawks. Jayhawkers was a term used to refer to people in Kansas who resisted slavery in that region. As such, the Jayhawk is the mascot of the University of Kansas, as is the Jayhawk cartoon character which is both schools' mascot. The term Jayhawk has no apparent connections to New York. but the high school wanted to use an alliteration and "Jaguars" was too common. Jericho High School has long-standing rivalries with neighboring Syosset High School and Roslyn High School.
- Jericho Soccer has been perennially strong in recent years, going to the State Championships in both 2004-2005, and winning in 2005. In the 2006 season the Varsity team made it to the Nassau County championship, but lost to Valley Stream South in overtime. Jericho also boasts a competitive Varisty basketball team that has won many recent County Class Championships. Jericho's Varsity Football team, however, is largely considered one of the weakest in the county, consistently ranking in the bottom 3 along with Oyster Bay HS and Roslyn HS.
- In 2006, the Jericho Boys' Varsity Basketball Team became the Long Island Class 'A' Champions by beating Huntington High School 74-65. They went on to the State Final Four where they lost to Sweet Home from Buffalo, NY. The basketball team was led by starters Michael Sinn (Alumni '06, University of Massachusetts Class of 2010), Lee Novick, William Coyle (Alumni '06), Brian Kahn (Class of '07), and Matt Cajuste (Class of '08).
- The 2007 Jericho Boys Varsity Basketball team is led by starters Michael Romanelli (Class of '08), Brian Kahn (Class of '07), Russell Taff (Class of '08), Justin Resnick (Class of '08), and Matt Cajuste (Class of '08). Head coach Wally Bachman won his 300th game this season. On March 3rd, the boys team took home the second straight Nassau Class A County championship by defeating Floral Park, 63-58, after starting the second half down by 17 points.
- The Jericho Boys Varsity Tennis team has won the Nassau County championships for the past three years (2004-2006).
- In 2006, their undefeated Boys' Varsity Swimming Team won the conference championship, first Boys' Swimming to do so in the school's history. In 2007, the team remained undefeated.
- The Jericho Boys Varsity Lacrosse team has consistenly been ranked as one of the top in the nation.
- Recent News: Isben Jeudy, a former vice-principal, pled guilty to official misconduct for giving answers to the Global History Regents Examination to his son.
- On September 9, 2005, Matt Ravner, a senior student in the class of 2006 was killed in a car accident on campus in the parking lot.
