BELLFLOWER - A near decade's worth of dominance came crumbling down at Bellflower High School. That's because La Mirada became the first football squad since the 2001 Matadores to defeat Mayfair, 42-12, in Friday's Suburban League contest.

Bellflower High School is located in Bellflower, California, as part of the Bellflower Unified School District (BUSD). Bellflower is a combination middle school and high school, having students from grades seven through twelve.
The address for the school is 15301 McNab Avenue, Bellflower, CA.
As of 2004, Bellflower had 131 regular educations teachers and 123 classrooms serving 3,272 students from the communities of Lakewood, Bellflower, Paramount and Compton. Average class size is 26.6 students.
Bellflower High School has one of the top Soccer programs in the State, having won six CIF championships since 2002. The soccer team is coached by former English Premier League star Brad Norman.
The school mascot is the "Buccaneer"—illustrated as a pirate with an eyepatch. The school colors are maroon and gold. The monthly school newspaper is the Blade.
