Clover Garden

Clover Garden is an excellent option! The teachers truly care about their students success beyond Clover Garden. They prepare the students for college regardless of what the graduate chooses. They have all the sports, clubs, band, etc. a student would want!

This is our first year at clover garden and we are very pleased. The staff has been very helpful and involved. They are quick to respond to my questions and meet with me. The faculty invite you to be involved. I think you are required to spend four hours a month at school. The facilities are clean and tidy, cleaner that other schools we visited. Parents and student both take pride in keeping the facilities clean. There seems to always be some type of improvement going on ie: green house being built, softball field being built, beautification being done. Discipline is excellent. They do not put up with profanity and rude behavior. When it does occure they "nip it in the bud." Academics is good. The kids are learning and children are happy. Small classes helps the student get more individual attention. It would be nice to have AP classes but the school is working with UNC-G and the state to offer more advanced classes on line. This will expand the electives and individuality. The homework is sufficient without being overwhelming. I suggest you come and take a look. I hope you will be as pleased as our family.

We highly recommend this school. Teachers are enthusiastic, dedicated, and this combined with the enriched curriculum makes learning varied and interesting. We moved our children there after some very disappointing experiences in the local state school. The difference in the eldest child in particular is a joy to see. Parental involvement is far higher here than in the State system where we were expected to 'keep out' and not be involved, and certainly not question any decisions that were made concerning our children, no matter how unhappy those children were becoming - it seemed like nobody cared. At Clover Garden, teachers care. There is a welcoming family atmosphere and parents are treated as partners in the learning process. The small school size means our kids are not 'lost in the crowd' and staff, parents, and teachers all know and recognise one another. Teachers always respond immediately and helpfully to our concerns - which was NOT our experience in the state schools. Class sizes in the lower school are growing simply because the school has proved beneficial and thus popular, and now operates with a waiting list. This has in no way reduced the advantages of small schools and in fact the blossoming numbers will make other activities like sports teams easier. We also like the ethos and behavioral expectations with regular awards for the 'character trait of the month' as well as for the usual academic achievements. Our children love their school, love their teachers, are far happier here, achieve well, and behave well. They are encouraged to be responsible and highly-motivated, one even has an ambition to grow up and become a Clover Garden teacher! We would recommend anyone to visit Clover Garden, take a tour & see for themselves.

This school is a NIGHTMARE! My ex talked me into sending our 3 children here this year. My son (who used to be in advanced classes) just got 2 D's on his report card. His teacher is refusing to meet with me or to even communicate with me (his legal custodian)! After several tries, I complained to the Director who basically told me that she'd call me if she feels she needed to talk to me. It is really outrageous. There is no art. There is no music. The classes are far larger than is posted on-line. They have an average 5th grade class size listed as 17 on most sites, and there both of my 5th grade twins have class numbers in the mid-20's. The teachers use poor grammar and syntax. The staff is unresponsive. The facilities are much poorer than the Alamance county schools we moved the children from.
