Mount Tabor High School is a high school located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and is part of the WS/FC School System. As of May 22, 2005, Mount Tabor had a student population of about 1,800 9th through 12th grade students, and is a North Carolina 4A school. Mount Tabor was previously part of the Metro 4-A Conference, but is currently a member of the Central Piedmont Conference. In 2008, Mount Tabor ranked as #190 out of the top 1,300 United States high schools. They had a MRSA out break in the 2007-2008 school year. Mount Tabor has a rich diversity of students and is often noted for its superior test scores and graduation percentage. Mount Tabor is known rivals with nearby high school R J Reynolds, and more recently Reagan High School due to the split of students. The close proximity has developed the rivalry between Reynolds and Mount Tabor, often with neighbors being forced to different schools. The school has an overwhelming amount of school spirit.
Academics

99% of the teachers are fully licensed and over 50% have been teaching for more than four years. The student teacher ratio is about 17:1. Below are the AP classes offered:

Athletics
Mount Tabor High School hosts many athletic programs, a full list of which includes American football, baseball, lacrosse, basketball, soccer, cheerleading, softball,cross country, swimming, field hockey, tennis, volleyball, hockey, wrestling, and track. Its sports teams have won several state championships. Students can participate in any sport, but may have to "try-out" for larger teams. Recently the football team made a run in the state playoffs to the championship game. Mount Tabor was also Central Piedmont Conference champions in every fall sport during the 2007 season, and the 2008-2009 Spartan basketball team won the NCHSAA 4-A State Championship for the first time in school history. Mount Tabor is often recognized for its superior sports teams and has been noted many times on WXII's high school playbook.
