Many students in the music program are in two or more of these groups. The jazz groups are pulled almost entirely out of the concert groups.
  • Choir: There are three choirs at Fargo North: Girls' Choir, Concert Choir, and 19th Ave. Jazz. The Concert Choir and Jazz Choir are joined by audition only, but the Girls' Choir is joined just by signing up. All choirs take part in four concerts throughout the school year, and the Jazz Choir sings in many public venues. Often students from the choir program will sing the National Anthem for school sporting events. The choirs are directed by Sheila Childs.
  • Band: The Band program at Fargo North serves multiple purposes. The two concert bands, a sophomore band and a junior-senior band, play four concerts each school year. The two jazz bands, split by grade in the same manner as the concert bands, also play at these concerts, and often partake in jazz competitions and festivals. In addition to these bands, many of the students volunteer to play for the school's sporting events in 'Pep Band.' This is designed to make the band program stand out and get people more excited before the games. On a few occasions, there have been 'stands bands,' or smaller versions of pep band set up for football games, to play in downtime during the game itself. The bands are directed by Brian Tessman and Shawn Brekke.
  • Orchestra: The two orchestras at Fargo North combine to play four concerts each school year, in addition to ensembles and music tours. Often, some of these students serve in pit orchestras for the theatre department. The orchestras are directed by Daniel Italiano.
  • Art: The art program at Fargo North contains an extreme amount of very talented students. They often create large projects by cooperating between the different classes. All art classes at Fargo North are taught by local professional artists. The art program holds a public showcase once a year at the West Acres mall.
  • Theatre: Fargo North Theatre consists of three different levels of Performing Arts, a class designed to teach just what it says, the Fargo North branch of the International Thespian Society, an independent tech crew, headed by the figure Chimpo, and three main shows a year: a straight show, or non-musical three-act; a two act musical; and a one act play, which is shown at the North Dakota One-act Festival.
  • Performing Arts: Performing Arts teaches many different forms of theatre, such as commedia del arte, pantomime, and many others.
  • International Thespian Society: Thespian Society is an international organization of high school students involved in theatre. Fargo North's branch meets actively every other Friday and has many different activities.
  • Shows: The three shows performed every year are all cast by audition, therefore providing the best cast possible. Each year, students produce a full-length musical, a one-act play, and a three-act play. Also at the school are various student projects, most notably the "Chomp and Stomp" and a set of twenty-four hour plays. The musical includes a full pit orchestra.
  • Tech Crew: Fargo North High Technical Theatre provides all the technical needs for the theatre, from shows to assemblies.
