Lynette Gerken and Jim Winseman, both of Defiance, put up a sign to cheer on the Tinora High School boys basketball team, which will be playing in the state championship semifinal game Thursday night in Columbus. Ms. Gerkens son, Gregg, plays for Tinora.

Tinora High School is a public high school near Defiance, Ohio, USA. It is the only high school in the Northeastern Local Schools district, whose nickname is the Tinora Rams, taken from the team mascot. The district is a member of the Green Meadows Conference. Tinora has rivalries with schools such as Fairview, Ayersville, & Defiance. It first opened in 1965.
The name "Tinora" results from combining the names of the other schools that comprise the Northeastern Local School district.
Tinora was formed in the age of school consolidation with each of the township schools. Previously each of the 3 elementary schools were full K-12 schools.Tinora Boys Varsity Basketball team is the 2009 State Runners up.
Tinora has also had 2 wrestling state champions, and many state placers in the sport. In 2009 two wrestlers went to the state tournament.. Joe Bodenbender at 130 and Rob Blake at 189.
