School Notes:
  • Crescent Valley High School, commonly known as CV, is a public high school in Corvallis, Oregon.
  • Crescent Valley has one principal, Cherie Stroud, and two vice principals, Mike Fagan and Jonathan Fost. Crescent Valley's school mascot is a raider, and the school colors are maroon and gold.
  • Athletics: The Crescent Valley Raiders boys and girls swim teams each won OSAA 5A state championships in 2007.
  • OSAA Swimming State Champions from CV 2007.
  • Girls 200 Medley Relay: Caroline Wells, Rachel Lee, Sydney Boyce, Riley Tillery 1:54.05.
  • Girls 200 Yard Freestyle: Mailene Leslie 1:54.79.
  • Boys 200 Yard IM: Daniel Worden 1:57.70.
  • Boys 100 Yard Butterfly: Daniel Worden 52.55.
  • Girls 500 Yard Freestyle: Mailene Leslie 5:01.70.
  • Girls 200 Yard Freestyle Relay: Jordan Iverson, Rachel Lee, Caroline Wells, Mailene Leslie 1:42.13.
  • Boys 200 Yard Freestyle Relay: Trae Wells, Daniel Worden, Kyle Snider, Rick Mason 1:30.25.
  • Girls 100 Yard Backstroke: Caroline Wells 59.14.
  • Girls 100 Yard Breaststroke: Rachel Lee 1:08.82.
  • Boys 100 Yard Breaststroke: Trae Wells 1:01.82.
  • Girls 400 Yard Freestyle Relay: Caroline Wells, Jordan Iverson, Sydney Boyce, Mailene Leslie 3:38.05The girls team won with a score of 84, beating out second place Summit with 46. All three relays, the 200IM, 200FR, and 400FR relays were won by the CVHS girls, earning the team 14 points for each relay. The boys beat out second place Summit by one point with a final score of 50-49. This was especially incredible because only one of the three relays, worth double points, was scored- the 200FR coming in first. The 200IM did not make it in to finals, and the 400FR was disqualified for an early exchange, but had finished first by a long shot to second place Corvallis, and was close to a school record. The boys, with only one relay for points were still able to pull off a win by winning three individual events and getting second in two, with additional points scored from other team members. No other time in school or OSAA history has one school won two state championships for the same sport (boys and girls) at the same time. Both teams are coached by Rex Watkins and the assistant coach is Lydia Kapsenburg.
  • The Girls Cross Country team placed third at state in 2006, qualifying two runners for the Nike Border Clash- an accomplishment shared by only one other school. Only one graduating senior was on the team, meaning that in 2007 they should be even better. Their coach is Tyler Bushnell, a former championship distance runner for BYU.
  • The Girls Soccer team earned second place in state in the fall of 2006, losing to Bend in the title game in double overtime.
  • The Girls Basketball Team placed 5th in state in 2007.
  • The dance team qualified for both rounds of state in 2007.
  • Choir: The Crescent Valley Concert Choir placed 1st at the Mid Willamette League Choir Competition on April 5th 2007, qualifying them for STATE. Not to mention they beat CHS!
