SISTERS — The tank painted like a cow brought home the prize from a statewide competition for a team of sixth-graders. Six students from Sisters Middle School made up the Outlaws, and they beat out seven other teams at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry’s first Da Vinci Challenge. With a wave of applications for cell towers and antennas filed with Deschutes County and local cities, AT&T Wireless is poised to bring its high-speed 3G network — and Apple’s iPhone — to Central Oregon.The company plans to have a “network presence” and retail stores in Deschutes County by December, according to a spokeswoman.
