- Silver Creek High School is a high school located in San Jose, California which is operated by the East Side Union High School District. It is a California Distinguished School.

On the morning of May 8, 2007 Silver Creek was locked down after police saw suspects. The police notified school administrators of possible armed suspects in the area. Three suspects crashed their getaway car two blocks from the school, fleeing from a nearby home. One of the three suspects was apprehended.
- Transformer Explosion

On September 26, 2007 during 7th period the school's transformer exploded, knocking out power and canceling classes for two days. The cause remains unknown but believed that the transformer cross phased.//vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=18930009]

Silver Creek is one of only eight high schools in the nation to produce two Olympic Champions. Millard Hampton, a graduate of Silver Creek, won a Gold Medal at the 1976 Olympic Games in the 400-meter relay and a Silver Medal in the 200-meter dash. Andre Phillips, also a Silver Creek graduate, won a Gold Medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in the 400-meter hurdles.
- Silver Creek holds an annual Track and Field invitational titled "Hampton Phillips Classic" held at San Jose City College. The Track and Field meet in named after Millard Hampton and Andre Phillips. Silver Creek has won several CCS, League, and State titles in Track and Field and Cross Country.Silver Creek's Track and Field team remains in "Mt. Hamilton Division" in the Blossom Valley League.Silver Creek's Cross Country team also remains in "Mt. Hamilton Division" ever since the Blossom Valley League was created.
- The AP Program at Silver Creek is the best in its district. Offering 18 AP Classes. Its AP Calculus Program is one of the best in the nation. For the past 26 years, students taking the AP Calculus BC Exam have had a 100% passing rate, obtaining an average score of 5.96. ON the other hand, AP Calc AB have also had 100% passing rates for 4 consecutive years so far. In 2007 it was the first time, that all AB students have passed with all 5s and one 4.
- Silver Creek is also one of the few schools in the nation that offer a Japanese language program.
- Silver Creek was shown on the television show MTV "Made" featuring a girl student trying to be made into a football player.
- Silver Creek is the only school in ESUHSD to not have completed renovations of the Track and Field/Football stadium.

As of 2006-2007, the school enrolls 2,379 students. The student demographic is mostly Vietnamese. The 2009 population is 70% Asian (Pacific Islander included), 22% Hispanic, 4% White, and 3% African American. In 1969 the student demographic was 68% White, 29% Black, 1.5% Hispanic, 0.5% Asian, and 0.5% Native American.
