Makenzie Moser often wears a white T-shirt with a small purple ribbon on it. Around the ribbon are the words: “There’s no excuse for abuse.” It is not a cause the Fairfield Area High School senior supports but knows nothing about. In fact, the 16-year-old is a first-hand expert on the effects domestic violence has on children.

Organizers of Fairfield festival say 2009 might mark the last Pippinfest with just one tree. If small-town harvest celebrations are as American as apple pie, then Fairfield's pie would no doubt be made from fresh, pippin apples.

Police say 14 year old sexually assaulted in locker room. A 19-year-old Fairfield man faces a host of charges for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl three times, including twice at Fairfield Area High School.

There might only have been 84 students receiving their diplomas at Fairfield Area High School's graduation ceremony Friday night, but there were 85 there in spirit.
