- Wando High School is a high school in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Home of the Wando Warriors, the school was built new in 2004 to accommodate the town's rapid growth during the 1990s. Located now on 1000 Warrior Way off Highway 17. Wando offers over 250 classes, including Advanced placement, Dual Credit, Honors, College Preparatory, and Applied Technology courses. The addition of a "Freshman Academy" improves the smooth transition of the change from middle school, to high school. After freshman year, the students are asked to pick one of four schools of study to major in. On September 28th, 2009, Ms. Lucy G. Beckham was named the 2010 MetLife/National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) National Secondary Principal of the Year. Sited on , this building shows notable statistics. The grounds include a field house complete with a press box. Student parking spaces total 1,179, with 33 visitor spaces, 368 staff spaces and room for 20 buses. The layout of this high school was based on the similar layout of West Ashley High School, one of their cross town rivals.
- Inside the school, there is a performing arts center; the gym has over ; and the specialized food court has . 27,800,000 tons of steel, 12,000,000 tons of concrete, over 800,000,000 bricks and concrete blocks and a total of 176 individual HVAC units were used in construction. The Wando High school has two multi-purpose fields along with separate fields for band practice, soccer, football, baseball and softball. There are also six tennis courts, a track area, and a shot put and javelin area.
- The old Wando building still stands, but is now being used by a local middle school while it is being rebuilt. The football stadium at the old Wando is still used by the high school as well as the three middle schools.

Wando is best known for their swimming, soccer, tennis, and baseball teams. In 2004 and 2007, the girl's varsity soccer team won the State Championship. The girls tennis team won the State Championship in 2005, 2006, and 2007. The football team under Coach Bob Hayes excelled in 2004 to reach the Lower State Championship, a first for the team. The Wando Baseball team also had its best year in 2009 as it reached the State Championship, though they fell short to Gaffney.. The lacrosse team also made it to the finals of the SC lacrosse championship game in their first year of competition. In the early 2000s, Wando students were credited with creating Caesar Tomgustus, an outdoor disc sport similar to the popular children's game Silent ball. Though not sanctioned by the SCHSL, Caesar Tomgustus remains popular among local youths. The Swim Team took the state championship in 2007. Also, the Boy's Swim Team relcaimed the championship in 2009.

The Wando Marching band[1] has won the SCBDA state 5-A championship for 4 years in a row with their 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 shows respectively entitled Equilibrium, Watermark, Promethean Dreams & Incarnata. In 2005 the band had an undefeated season, achieving first place in every competition attended.The band is under the direction of Scott Rush, and assisted by Sean McGrew and Lanie Radecke.Former directors include Basil Kerr and Miller Asbill.
- In 2009, the Wando Band placed 51 people in the All-State Band, more than any other band in the state.
- The band has been awarded the Outstanding Performance Award for 2008-2009.
- The Wando High School Symphonic Band performed at The Midwest Clinic in 2007.

Wando's school newspaper, viewable online at their website, has won many awards including for the second consecutive year the Best in Show Award for newspapers over 17 pages at the National Scholastic Press Association Convention, the All-American Award from the NSPA for the sixth consecutive year, the Silver Crown Award for the second consecutive year from Columbia Scholastic Press Association, and the Gold Medalist award from CSPA.It also placed in the top 35 newspapers in the nation. Also receiving the Best in State of South Carolina Award from the Southern Interscholastic Press Association for the sixth consecutive year, an All-Southern ranking, the SIPA’s highest ranking, for the 16th consecutive year, and Best in State from SCSPA for five of the last seven years.. Wando has a ratio of 22 students on 1 teacher, having over 280 hand-picked available staff members ready to serve the students.
