  • Oliver Springs High School (OSHS) is the Roane County high school that serves the city of Oliver Springs, Tennessee.
  • Athletics
  • As an affiliate of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association , the OSHS Bobcats play in class-AA in region-2. Although OSHS has a small enrollment of only 500 students, the Bobcats' fan following is one of the most passionate in Tennessee high school athletics. OSHS athletics has produced outstanding teams in boys and girls basketball, football, and baseball.
  • Girls and Boys basketball were the driving force of OSHS's emergence as a small school athletic powerhouse. The Cats and Lady Cats routinely beats schools with enrollments double and triple OSHS's enrollment of 500 students.
  • While OSHS advances to the regional tourney in most years, the boy's team had had outstanding success in some year. The Bobcats advanced to the 1989 Class A state championship game. They lost by 20 points to Class A State Champions EaRoberston. After years of success in district and regional play, OSHS made it back to the state tourney in class A. OSHS was beaten on a last second shot by Chattanooga Brainard ending the Bobcats push for a state championship. However, it was the 1998-1999 season Oliver Springs fans remember as being the most successful. OSHS was ranked most of the year as Tennessee's #1 high school team in Class AA. OSHS had a tough regular schedule playing many elite AAA teams. One of them was cross country rival and #1 AAA Clinton. Oliver Springs not only held their own, but smacked Clinton by 20 points issuing the Dragons their first regular season loss in 3 years. OSHS went on to advance to the Class AA quarterfinals that year.
  • The Lady Cat Basketball program is regarded as one of the best in Tennessee high school athletics regardless of classification. The Lady Cats have advanced to the state tourney 7 times since 1980. Before 1980, OSHS had advanced numerous other times, as well. It wasn't until 1980 that TSSAA started keeping official records. having advanced to the Class AA The oSHS Lady cats played in the Class AA tournies in 1982, 2001, and 2003. The Lady Cats advanced to the Class A basketball tourney in 2006, 2007, and 2008. OSHS was state runner up in 1982 and 2007 and made the state semifinals in 2004. In 2008, OSHS scored what is probably its biggest win in school history. OSHS beat #16 ranking in America/USA today the Knoxville Webb Lady Spartans by 12 points. Oliver Springs's highly touted do everything guard Kayla Christopher led the charge scoring 32 points outshining to All American UT Lady Vol signees.
  • The Lady Bobcat program has sent dozens of players to the collegiate ranks. Class of 2009 Kayla Christopher will be the next bigtime player from thh storied Lady Bobcat program. In 2008-2009 season, the Lady Cats are expected to contend for the Class A state champion as well.
