Bakersfield High School is a high school located in Bakersfield, California. First founded in 1893 as Kern County High School, changed to Kern County Union High School in 1915, and finally to Bakersfield High School in 1945. Most of the original architecture has been demolished and replaced by new structures to accommodate the growing number of students over the years. The official mascot is the Driller. Danny and Dottie Driller are the names of the male and female mascots. A student is selected each year to fill these spots.
Prominent Alumni: Earl Warren - Chief Justice of the United States; Frank Gifford - Former football player; Robert Swift - Current NBA player.
