  • The school follows the classic high school model serving grades 9 through 12 and is the largest school in the Pasadena Independent School District.
  • Dobie High School was named after Texas author and educator J. Frank Dobie, opened in 1968 (at 11111 Beamer Road, Houston, 77089; the building is now occupied by Beverly Hills Intermediate School). A campus opened at its current address in 2003 [1] [2].

  • Like all Pasadena ISD schools, Dobie High School requires all students to wear a standardized dress. [4]
  • Students need to wear collared shirts that of any solid colors. Students may wear khaki or navy blue slacks or khaki or blue denim trousers (blue jeans). Skirts and jumpers are also allowed and must be in the same styles as the trousers. Belts are required and shirts must be tucked in. Males shall not be allowed to wear ear rings or gang paraphernalia in any shape or fashion. Permanent markers will not be allowed to be to be carried by students. Students are required to wear school identification badges.
  • The Texas Education Agency specified that the parents and/or guardians of students zoned to a school with uniforms may apply for a waiver to opt out of the uniform policy so their children do not have to wear the uniform; parents must specify "bona fide" reasons, such as religious reasons or philosophical objections.
