- The school competes in band, athletic, and academic activities. Most notably, the girl's track & field team won the 2A state championship back to back in 2006 and 2007, making it the first high school in the San Antonio area to repeat since 1989. In 2008 the team won their 3rd consecutive state championship in girls track and field.
- Among other notable activities is the award-winning Randolph Ro-Hawk Marching Band. The band had won every marching competition they had entered dating back to 1997, an 11-year streak until October 10, 2009, when the Industrial High School Golden Cobra Band of Vanderbilt, Texas defeated the Ro-Hawks at the Converse Judson Rocket Review with their show entitled "Malaguena Suite." However, two weeks later on October 24, 2009, Randolph regained their top position with a first place win in the UIL Area E Competition, pushing Industrial to second place. They will be competing at the Texas State Marching Band Competition on November 2, 2009.
- The band has received superior ratings (the highest available) at the Regional level for 15 consecutive years. The Ro-Hawk band has been distinguished as one of the Top 10 Marching Bands in its classification of over 260 bands. The Ro-Hawks have advanced to the bi-annual Area Marching Contest every year since 1995. The band has also advanced to the bi-annual Texas State Marching Contest every year since 1997, and have placed in the Top 10 each time. Most recently at the state level, the band made its 6th consecutive trip to the contest and placed 8th, missing the finals by merely 2 points. In 2009 the band marked their 8th consecutive appearance in the bi-annual Area Marching Contest by receiving first place in the preliminary round of 20 bands, as well as first place in the finals round of 10 bands. This earned the Ro-Hawks an unprecedented 7th straight appearance in the Texas State Marching Band Contest.
- Students are issued personal laptops for classroom and personal use during the school year. However, students must return their laptops before the end of the year. The first laptops were issued in 2003 to the class of 2007.
