- Brighton High School in Cottonwood Heights, Utah is located about ten miles south of Salt Lake City. The school, which opened in 1969, is designed with two octagonal sections housing self-contained classrooms and a full auditorium. A gymnasium and support areas complete the building which is situated on the brow of a hill. The teacher/pupil ratio is 1 to 27.3, but actual class sizes vary and are usually over 32 students. A Parent/Teacher/Student Association attempts to address special school needs and strengthens programs through volunteer committee work.
- Brighton has proven consistent high averages in testing and currently holds national rankings for Dance, Volleyball, and Model United Nations. The school offers opportunities to receive college credit through Advanced Placement and concurrent enrollment programs, administered by Utah State University and Salt Lake Community College.
- The school serves about 2,258 students in grades 10 to 12 in suburban area extending across Sandy, Utah and Cottonwood Heights, and is part of the Canyons School District.

Brighton High has recently gained national recognition of the Dance Team "Accadians" and Girls Volleyball, ranking 1st and 9th, respectively. In addition, the Bengals have a strong tradition of state Swimming and Wrestling.

Brighton High has consistently scored in top percentiles in the ACT, SAT, and state testing. In addition to a wide variety of Advanced Placement courses taught, concurrent enrollment is available through Utah State University and Salt Lake Community College, earning direct college credit through distance learning programs. As part of the Canyons School District, many vocational studies are available through local Technology Centers, ranging from Heavy Diesel Mechanics to certification as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator.

Mandated through Federal No Child Left Behind legislation, Utah adopted the Utah Performance Assessment for Students (UPASS) to prove academic proficiency. The annual Brighton High report card has shown above average performance in Language Arts as well as Science areas.
