School Reviews

5   12/29/2008
AHS has a facility that is over 60 years old the current renovation is adding more office space for principals. The guidance office is very poor and can not handle the college bound student requests in a timely manner, the school is part of VHL for sports but this requires teams to compete with other teams 100 to 120 miles away. There is no local district play, this occurs at the other two high schools. The middle of the road student is ignored and programs to address drop out rates and remidation are more of the focus. AP and honors classes are available but have 25 to 40 students in a class. There is no communication from the school a parent sponsors a weekly newsletter that keeps the community informed.
