Police in Radford are investigating some vandalism that occurred over the weekend at McHarg Elementary School. According to police, vandal(s) caused approximately $15,000 in damage to the roof, skylights and windows. We're told damage was contained to one wing of the school and a multi-use room.

The federal government helped Katelynn Cowan pay a few household bills this summer with the money she received to ready McHarg Elementary School for the coming school year. But first, of course, the 17-year-old had to buy a new cellphone and get a haircut. She's heading into her junior year at Radford High School and has to look good, too.
