Athletics
Federal Way is in the North Division of the South Puget Sound League in Washington's West Central District.The most recent successes in the State tournaments include a 1st place finish in 2001 and 2nd place finishes in 2000, '02 and '03 by the baseball team. In the 2007-2008 basketball season, Federal Way finished second in the 4A State tournament, their highest finish in school history. In 2006 FWHS left the South Division of the South Puget Sond League (SPSL) and joined the North SPSL. Also in the 2007 season the Boys Soccer Team got second in the state. For the 2008-2009 Federal Way boys' and girls' Basketball teams both made the 4A Washington State Basketball tournament. The girls' team went on to finish in 3rd while the Boys finished in first place after a 62-54 win over Garfield High School.
