It's been 11 years since Metro bus driver Mark McLaughlin was shot and killed by a mentally ill man. On November 27, 1998, Mclaughlin was driving along the Aurora Bridge in Seattle when a passenger shot and killed him and then took his own life.

Citizen panel weighs toll-rate options for Narrows Bridge (Seattle Times)

The Tacoma Narrows Bridge Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) discussed toll-rate scenarios and received an update on $5.28 million given to the project by the state Legislature for operational spending. Committee members consist of citizens who live near the bridge, and they're appointed by Gov. Chris Gregoire.
