The Freedom High School Band has more than doubled in size since the schools' opening. They have earned a Superior in marching band for the shows Queen in 2003, Aerosmith in 2004, Phantom of the Opera in 2005, Fusion in 2007, and Helios in 2008. Many superiors have also been earned in concert band. The Freedom High School Jazz Band performs locally on many occasions and traveled to San Antonio, Texas (2008) where they earned a Superior rating, as well as student Tyler Wertman winning a solo award. Many of the band members consistently make All-County and/or All-State and a few have become Master Musicians. Many of the members also participate in Solo and Ensemble, where many receive Superior ratings as well.

The school achieved an "A" for the 2007/2008 school year. Ratings are based on FCAT scores.

In June, 2008, principal Richard Bartels retired. Mr. Bartels was the first principal of Freedom High School and helped to open the school in 2002. Mr. Farkas is the current principal.
