MARQUETTE - Marquette's Vandenboom Elementary School was the venue for reminiscing and socializing Thursday evening. Photographs that were stored in the school's safe, year books, and scrapbooks were gathered from past years for attendees to page through during an ice cream social and open house at the school, Principal Donna Koskiniemi said.
New feature launched (The Mining Journal)

MARQUETTE - Today marks the launch of a new, recurring feature in The Mining Journal. "Grandparents teach, too" will appear on the publication's Lifestyles page every other week, according to Managing Editor Bud Sargent. "This feature is written by retired or current Marquette-area educators," Sargent said. "We're delighted to be able to bring it to readers.
