School Reviews

My son has attended this school since kindergarten. During the COVID-19 pandemic, these teachers worked hard to provide him with a complete learning experience that included math, reading, science, art, PE, music, and more. He LOVES his school, and he feels safe. There are plenty of extended learning opportunities for families who seek them - 8% of the students in the district participate in the gifted program. Like all Arizona schools, Craycroft suffers from a lack of resources and support at the state level; but Sunnyside is an amazing district with a close-knit community. Supportive families with the resources and commitment to work with teachers as instructional partners will find many opportunities for students to learn and grow. My student has been encouraged to develop his identity as a learner, and his teachers recognize and support his interests and abilities. We have found the school leadership to be accessible and attentive, and teachers communicate regularly through ClassDojo, phone, and email. We are regularly made aware of our son's academic progress, and we are confident that he has been properly prepared for future levels of learning. The elementary school is right next door to the middle school, so we expect the transition to be made much easier. Through the 21st Century Community Learning Center program, my son has participated in literacy and math enrichment through gardening, technology, and sports, and there are many other similar opportunities. The teachers here care about my student, and they are committed to helping him grow; there are no test scores that will ever reflect that.
