School Reviews
2 3/20/2011
This school has really gone down in what it once stood for. I would very much like to point out that in my most very honest opinion the schools current principal Karen Donahue, does not realize that some staff members are not right for the job they are currently holding. The music activities have greatly gone down hill in quality, the teachers are oblivious to what is happening right in front of their eyes. Students skip classes all the time. There is no good organization in the music department, and I person would like to note the teachers are wasting money on things that aren't being touched. When I started attending Horseheads High School i guess i expected more than what was actually there. The students awards are wonderful, if they earned them then congratulations, the school should continue to push students into earning these awards. The schools facilities are what any school is about, the open gym, pool, library, lunch room. Due to the recent budget loss of 6 million dollars which I do not understand why this happened, school lunch has been dramatically raised. Some kids are no longer able to get a lunch that is healthy, instead they buy the things that are cheap like chips and candy. lastly parent involvement is great but they are there to support their child. I hear parents complain about the school a great amount. Horseheads High School needs a dramatic change within the year.
