West Wilson Middle is a wonderful school with very caring administration and teachers! There are so many activities and opportunities for students to be involved in. As a parent, I am pleased with the communication from the teachers and school!

The school is more concerned with the dress code and other policies then the kids. The only time a parent is contacted is when it is in regards to your child not wearing a belt. My daughter was in choir and she had a "mini" concert one night, when we arrived we were told it was 4.00 to get in. What kind of a school charges parents to see their children sing in choir. The dances for the children also cost 4.00 per child to attend. I think that the board of education needs to be replaced with people that actually care about the children.

Teachers in 19 States Allowed to Physically Punish Students
As of 2014, nineteen states still allow corporal punishment – spanking and paddling the most common choices – in their public schools. However, some argue that not only are these punishments physically harmful, they also are disproportionately administered to students of color. As a result, House democrats have taken up the issue in a new bill that would ban all forms of corporal punishment nationwide.
