Seagull Academy for Independent Living, or SAIL, is a charter school serving the unique needs of students with significant intellectual disabilities that include significant learning challenges. Established in 2002, SAIL offers an educational program that blends traditional academics with practical life and vocational skills. Our ultimate goal is for all of our students to realize their life`s full potential.

SAIL is a charter school for middle and high school students operated under contract with the Palm Beach County school system and a division ofSeagull Services, a non-profit organization serving the greater Palm Beach area since 1979.At SAIL, we are committed to providing a comprehensive, individualized education program for each of our students, utilizing a holistic approach to advancement in academic as well aslife skills,social skills,andjob skills.

Ourcurriculumincorporates the basics of traditional academics into a broad-based program of practical skills. Each classroom at SAIL employs innovative teaching methods that allow students to learn through hands-on, manipulative activities. The maximum ratio in each classroom is 1 staff member for every 7 students to allow for the individualized learning environment that makes the Seagull difference.
