I do not recommend Worthington Elementary. The teachers are not bad, but they are close minded and set in their ways. The school itself is in pretty bad shape and there is no air conditioning, so in the fall and spring the kids are in a very hot learning environment. The school could use a new principle to help rejuvenate the teachers and curriculum. If your child has any type of learning disability or is slow in any subject, they pretend like they are doing their best with your child but in the end blame your child when they don't improve. On the other end of the spectrum if your child is gifted, they really don't offer classes that will allow your child to grow. They do have a nice library with a nice summer reading program. This school does a lot of concentrating on small issues instead of investing time on issues that really will improve the lives of the students. The play ground has nice equipment to play on but it placed on top of gravel. I’ve seen many children throw rocks at other students and fall in the gravel and get hurt. The teachers talk bad about each other and the principle. Parents talk bad about the teachers and the principle. It really just isn’t a pleasant place for your child to learn.
