Logos is an accredited, free, public school serving 1200 K-12th grade students across two Oregon counties. Starting as a small school 2010 of 300 students, it has grown to the largest non-virtual charter school in Oregon. It''s no wonder with a 91% graduation rate over the last 7 years and over 23,000 college credits and 62 college associates degrees in that time that families love Logos. We are wrapping up our 8th year here at Logos and are excited about high school. Who can say that at any other school? I'll list some of the reasons we love Logos and why it has worked so well for us. First, we have moved around the valley a couple of times, and not having to uproot my daughter from school and friends have been great. Second, having the option to meet online or in person at home or school has been so convenient. The ESA (educational specialists) are so flexible. Since you keep one ES for 7 years for elementary and one for mid/ high for 6 years, I highly recommend finding the right person that flows with your family. If you feel uncomfortable, request a new person. Logos is here for your child's success. Lastly, the campus classes are a fantastic way to get your child more experience and interaction with peers in a safe place. Go grocery shopping or have lunch with a friend while your child is on campus. My number 1 suggestion for newbies is to ask questions. There are so many opportunities and your ES is trying to juggle a ton of students so keep up with the times yourself. The newsletter might be in your spam email. Mark it as important and you'll never miss a thing. One more thing: go easy on yourself and your kids. Give snacks and rewards and make it work into your schedule. Logos is a blessing of a school. I began attending Logos as a seventh grader, leaving the school I was currently attending because I just didn''t fit in a traditional classroom. I would finish my assignments before the teacher had even finished explaining the lesson, the curriculum was too easy, the environment was too noisy, and I felt it was a waste of time to be there for seven hours every day when I could finish my entire day''s worth in much less than that. Coming to Logos, I got to have a say in my education. I was able to choose the classes I took and the curriculum I used, and I was paired with a wonderful E.S. My working environment wasn''t too noisy, and I could complete my work at my own pace, as quickly or as slowly as I wanted to. I was able to work a year ahead in four of my six subjects, and that was the challenge I needed, something the traditional schools could not offer me. As a junior and senior, I was part of the Scholars Academy and attended the majority of my classes on campus at Rogue Community College. Again, this was the challenge I needed, as the traditional high school would have been filled with frustration and boredom. Because of Logos, I jumpstarted my college education by sixty-one credits, tuition-free to me. I went to school with like-minded high schoolers on a college campus, a unique opportunity that I am grateful for. I am a 2018 graduate of Logos, and I cannot recommend the school enough. Having a personalized education, a dedicated E.S., and being dually enrolled in college are opportunities I wish every student could be offered. Thank you, Logos, for being so wonderful.
