School Reviews
3 10/10/2025
Barrington High School has lost its mind. It is a great school, where all honor classes were open to all. Any student could decide (with their parent's help) whether to take an honor class (or how many to take). The school committee monitored this and found that too few ... minority and socio-economically disadvantaged kids... were taking the honors classes, so they are now in the process of REMOVING ALL HONORS CLASSES. The honors students will be redistributed among the other classes and teachers will concentrate on getting the number of kids passing minimum grade proficiency up. Since the honors kids easily pass minimum grade proficiency, they will be ignored. Students and parents are understandably livid, and the school committee doesn't care. Don't MOVE HERE FOR THE SCHOOL, you don't know what will be there when your kids reach high school!!
