This school is unique in that it offers family functions and events for the whole family. Their staff is warm and inviting and several of our family and friends' children have attended this school in the past years (including three of our own). TIA has performances for Cinco De Mayo, Chinese New Year, and many competitions such as their Chili Cook-Off and other family events that include star gazing with an organization that brings strong, high-tech telescopes for the kids to explore the galaxy and beyond. We were always blessed with good teachers at TIA West that cared for our children and promoted an atmosphere that was always family-friendly. We always knew when we left our kids in TIA''s care that they were going to be properly cared for. The Director was always involved and so were the Principals. Our family went as far as paying for an attorney to try to keep my oldest son at TIA. Unfortunately, my ex-husband wanted to switch our son to a school near him, and although a good-standing school, it was however a big school compared to a smaller school environment that our son was doing well. Our son had high energy and went off track at the new school as expected. Luckily, our court experience supported our son in returning to the same grades he had before, prior to being granted a vehicle. Our son was quickly redirected and returned to working hard again and did well. I would like to thank TIA for their strategies because they invested tutoring time in our son during after-school hours to keep him on track and strengthen his Math skills. This coordinated Math tutoring and support will never be forgotten! TIA had a wonderful African American teacher who aided in this area and the school continues to staff a wonderfully diverse faculty. If you're a parent that wants to see your child excel, TIA has the same mindset in nurturing your child toward their success. We love the school's attitude in helping children excel/ promoting an environment for children by aiding their interest to learn through fun. Their priority is to help your child obtain college acceptance and receive financial support through a college scholarship... This says a lot! They never give up on kids and take pride in what they do. We're forever grateful for their support, as they were a blessing to our lives. Whichever kids come their way, they are there to help. The only detail of improvement I may suggest would be upgrading the playground (ground cover/increased equipment.) Typically Charter schools fall short of funding in this area but with new upcoming changes in 2023, this should help.
